哈尔滨工业大学材料科学与工程学院始建于1952年,是我国培养先进材料及加工工艺领域高级专业人才的重要发源地,是全国首批博士学位授权点、全国首批博士后流动站、全国首批双一流建设重点学科。首轮双一流建设获评成效显著,进入培优学科”。20245月,哈工大“材料科学”学科成功进入ESI国际排名万分之一行列全校共两个学科

哈尔滨工业大学(威海)材料科学与工程学院始建于1989,是哈尔滨工业大学材料科学与工程学科的重要组成部分,1997年开始招收培养第一届本科生,2001年成立材料科学与工程系,正式招收第一硕士生,2004年成立材料科学与工程学院现有材料加工工程、材料学两个山东省重点学科材料成型及控制工程、焊接技术与工程、材料科学与工程、电子封装技术和智能材料与结构五个本科专业,其中材料成型及控制工程、材料科学与工程、焊接技术与工程是国家一流本科专业的重要组成,焊接技术与工程、电子封装技术是山东省特色专业,材料成型及控制工程入选山东省一流本科专业,智能材料与结构是全国首个面向中国制造2025的材料类新工科专业并入选黑龙江省一流本科专业

学院建有科技部海洋工程材料与深加工技术国际联合研究中心、材料结构精密焊接与连接全国重点实验室威海分室、微系统与微结构教育部重点实验室威海分室、山东省特种焊接技术重点实验室、山东省军民两用新材料及制品高校重点实验室、山东省高性能构件成形工艺与装备工程技术研究中心等多个省部级科研平台,以及多个校企联合研发中心等教学科研平台。

学院现有教职员工87,专任教师66其中教授25、副教授24博士生导师31、硕士生导师44人)包括国家级高层次人才2、国家级高层次青年人才3、省级高层次人才4、省级高层次青年人才13,聘请来自国内外知名高校及研究机构的兼职教授10余人中国工程院院士3学院瞄准国际学科发展前沿和国家重大工程需求,形成了高性能材料设计及制备、复备、先接和智能材料等四个科研方向。近年来,承担国家重点项目、省重大科技创新工程、蓝黄两区战略项目等重大技术攻关项目200余项,年均经费5000余万元,发表科技论文300多篇,多项科研成果获得国家、部委和省市级奖励,成果在航空航天、国防军工、轨道交通、海洋工程等领域获得应用。

学院现有在校本科生1000余人,研究生300余人。秉持哈工大规格严格、功夫到家的校训、真材实料、锻焊大器的院训,形成了一个根本、两向维度、三层位面、四元融合的育人理念,即立足一流学科、一流本科专业和新工科专业人才培养的根本目标,实行学校和企业的两向维度教学,课堂、实验、实践的三层位面教学,政教、科教、赛教、产教的四元融合教学,使学生获得运用专业知识分析及解决问题的能力,努力提升卓越工程师和工程领军人才培养质量。

学院不断强化厚基础、强实践、严过程、求创新的人才培养特色,在校生每年在各类国家级科技竞赛获奖数十项,其中在中国国际大学生创新大赛(原互联网+大赛)、挑战杯全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛和中国大学生创业计划竞赛中获得国家级奖14项(其中国创赛金奖2项、银奖2项,挑战杯一等奖1项)。本科毕业生去向落实率保持在98%以上,国内攻读研究生率达55%(其中90%以上录取到C9高校)出国留学率在7%以上,签约就业学生中,80%以上进到航天、航空、核电、船舶、电子等国防军工领域以及其他央企、国企500强、上市公司等重点单位就业,受到用人单位的青睐

学院重视师资队伍、人才培养、科学研究的国际化进程,2025年教育部审批通过智能材料与结构专业与韩国汉阳大学4+0中外合作办学项目,同时新加坡国立大学、英国伯明翰大学、曼彻斯特大学、伦敦大学等著名高校建立稳定的科研合作关系或学生联合培养协议,为学生提供3+1+13+23+1等出国留学机会。

学院秉持“党建引领,全面创优”工作理念,扎实推进党建与中心工作深度融合,以高质量党建引领高质量发展,学院先后获评山东省首批党建双创标杆院系、山东省高校黄大年式教师团队、山东青年创新突击队、山东省工人先锋号以及山东省教育系统劳模和优秀人才创新工作室涌现出2个山东省样板支部2名山东省教育系统优秀党员、1名山东省五四青年奖章等一批先进集体和个人。

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology was founded in 1952. It is an important birthplace for cultivating advanced professionals in the fields of materials and processing technology in China. It is one of the first batch of doctoral degree authorization points, the first batch of postdoctoral mobile station, and the first key discipline for the "Double First Class" construction in China. The first round of Double First Class Construction was rated as "Significantly Effective" and entered the "Excellence Discipline Training". In May 2024, the "Materials Science" discipline of Harbin Institute of Technology successfully entered the top ten thousandth of ESI international rankings (two disciplines in total in our univerisity).

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) was founded in 1989 and is an important part of the Materials Science and Engineering discipline at Harbin Institute of Technology. It began admitting and training its first undergraduate students in 1997, established the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2001, and officially enrolled its first master's students. In 2004, the School of Materials Science and Engineering was founded. There are currently two key disciplines in Shandong Province, namely Materials Processing Engineering and Materials Science, as well as five undergraduate majors: Material Forming and Controlling Engineering, Welding Technology and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electronic Packaging Technology, and Intelligent Materials and Structures. Among them, Material Forming and Controlling Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Welding Technology and Engineering are important components of the national first-class undergraduate majors, while Welding Technology and Engineering and Electronic Packaging Technology are characteristic majors in Shandong Province. Material Forming and Controlling Engineering has been selected as a first-class undergraduate major in Shandong Province, and Intelligent Materials and Structures is the first new engineering major in the material category aimed at "Made in China 2025" in China, and has been selected as a first-class undergraduate major in Heilongjiang Province.

The college has established multiple provincial and ministerial level scientific research platforms, including the International Joint Research Center for Marine Engineering Materials and Deep Processing Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Weihai Branch of the National Key Laboratory for Precision Welding and Joining of Materials Structures, the Weihai Branch of the Key Laboratory of Microsystems and Microstructure of the Ministry of Education, the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Special Welding Technology, the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Military-Civilian Dual Use New Materials and Products, the Shandong Provincial High Performance Component Forming Process and Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, as well as multiple teaching and research platforms such as school enterprise joint research and development centers.

There are 87 teaching staff in the college, 66 full-time teachers (including 25 professors, 24 associate professors, 31 doctoral supervisors and 44 master's supervisors), including 2 national high-level talents, 3 national high-level young talents, 4 provincial high-level talents, 13 provincial high-level young talents, and more than 10 part-time professors from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad (including 3 academicians of the CAE Member). The college aims at the forefront of international discipline development and national major engineering needs, and has formed four research directions: high-performance material design and preparation, high-performance forming and equipment for complex structure, advanced joining and special welding, and intelligent materials. In recent years, we have undertaken more than 200 major technological research and development projects, including national key projects, provincial major scientific and technological innovation projects, and strategic projects in the Blue and Yellow Zones, with an average annual funding of over 50 million yuan. We have published over 300 scientific and technological papers, and have won national, ministerial, and provincial awards for multiple scientific research achievements. These achievements have been applied in fields such as aerospace, national defense and military industry, rail transit, and marine engineering.

The college currently has over 1000 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students. Adhering to the motto of Harbin Institute of Technology, which emphasizes "Strict specifications, thorough workmanship", and the motto of "Genuine materials, forged and welded masterpieces ", we have formed the educational philosophy of "One fundamental principle, two dimensions, three layers, and four integrations". Based on the fundamental goal of cultivating talents in first-class disciplines, first-class undergraduate majors, and new engineering majors, we implement two-way teaching in schools and enterprises, three-level teaching in classrooms, experiments, and practices, and four element integration teaching in Government-Teaching, Scientific Research-Teaching, Competition-Teaching, and Industry-Teaching, so that students can acquire the ability to analyze and solve problems using professional knowledge, and strive to improve the quality of cultivating outstanding engineers and engineering leaders.

The college has constantly strengthened the talent cultivation characteristics of "Solid foundation, Strong practice, Rigorous process, and Pursuit of innovation ". Every year, college students win dozens of awards in various national science and technology competitions, including 14 national awards in the China International Undergraduate Innovation Competition (the original Internet plus Competition), the "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, and the China Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Plan Competition (including 2 gold awards, 2 silver awards, and 1 first prize in the Challenge Cup). The implementation rate of undergraduate graduates' employment prospects remains above 98%, with a domestic postgraduate enrollment rate of 55% (of which over 90% are admitted to C9 universities), and an overseas study rate of over 7%. Among the contracted employment students, over 80% enter the national defense and military industry fields such as aerospace, aviation, nuclear power, shipbuilding, electronics, as well as other key units such as central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, Fortune 500 companies, and listed companies, and are favored by employers.

The college attaches great importance to the internationalization process of teaching staff, talent cultivation and scientific research. In 2025, the Ministry of Education approved the Sino-foreign cooperative education project for the major of Smart Materials and Structures (4+0 with Hanyang University, South Korea). At the same time, it has established a stable scientific research cooperation relationship or joint-supervision with the National University of Singapore, the University of Birmingham, the University of Manchester, the University of London and other famous universities to provide students with 3+1+1, 3+2, 3+1 and other opportunities to study abroad.
